Infrared Structural Inspection
Eller Infrared Services performs precise infrared inspection of new construction and existing structures to verify structural integrity and construction quality control. The following resources detail our infrared structural inspection services.
Infrared Structural Inspection Inspection: New Construction
After sunset, wall areas which contain concrete have a different thermographic color signature due to radiation of stored energy from daylight sunshine in the form of heat. This stored energy radiates as heat from these areas for a longer period of time than those areas with empty or insulated cells.
When the building structure cools down from typical daytime heat, our engineers inspect the structure's walls with sensitive infrared imaging devices to detect heat sources, and record them for later analysis. Areas with more mass (filled cells) are immediately evident in the resulting infrared inspection. Using the infrared image data in our reports aids in the determination of missing concrete within the structure.
